PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN IN THE MANNER OF JACOB MAENTEL (PENNSYLVANIA/INDIANA, 1763-1863).
Watercolor on paper, unsigned. Full-length portrait of a young man, almost certainly the brother of the subject of lot 106, standing in a simple landscape. Light toning and foxing. 10 1/2"h. 8 3/4"w., in a decorated frame, 13 3/4"h. 12 1/4"w.

Condition: Even toning, minor foxing. What appears to be a pencil signature on back of J.A. Davis and date of 1853 was likely added (the handwriting doesn't match Davis' well enough, and the clothing doesn't match the date).
