Attributed to Stevens Plains, Maine, 1st half-19th century, tin. Original decoration including blue foliage on a black ground. Painting is somewhat naive. Wire handle and tin hasp. Inscribed inside "Mis Holmes Dr for 11 1/2 oz notes" (?) Minor wear. 8 3/4"w. 5"d. 5 3/4"h. Ex David Good (Ohio).

Paint appears to be original. Minor dings and dents and wear on the top.
