STONEWARE CROCK.
Impressed label "Boughner, Greensboro, Pa 4" (probably Daniel Boughner), 1st half-19th century. Brushed cobalt decoration and two applied handles. 15"h.

Daniel was the brother of Alexander Boughner and the son-in-law of Alexander Vance. Alexander Boughner succeeded Vance in running the Greensboro Pottery Works where Daniel was employed as supervisor. Daniel married Mary Vance in 1811.
