DECORATED DOME TOP BOX.
Attributed to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, mid 19th century, poplar. Of diminutive size and pegged construction. Retains its original tin hinges, hasp, and its original brownish-red over yellow-green sponge decoration. Minor imperfections. 4 1/2"h. 8 1/8"w. 4 7/8"d. Ex Marjorie Stauffer Antiques (Ohio).

Stamped twice on the interior is the name "Fanny Nolt". Genealogical research has identified several Fanny Nolts living in Lancaster County in the 19th century.

Condition: One hinge beginning to split; a few later nails added for reinforcment. The thick varnish has yellowed and darkened considerably.
