Probably the Upson shop, Marion (Southington), Connecticut, early 19th century, tin. Original decoration on dark japanning. Shaped white bands with red flowers and buds typical of the shop with yellow flourishes. Wire handle and tin hasp. Minor wear. 8"w. 4"d. 4 1/2"h.
