TOLE OVAL CANISTER.
Probably the Stevens shop, Stevens Plains, Michigan, 1800-1842, tin. Original paint on a black ground. Bright red flowers surround a conch shell, a motif used in the Stevens shop. Wire handle and tin hasp. Worn, but main design is bright. 7"l. 5"h.
