PORTRAIT OF A WELL-DRESSED GENTLEMAN (NEW ENGLAND, EARLY 19TH CENTURY).
Oil on panel, unsigned. Fine half-length portrait of a gentleman wearing a striped vest and brass-buttoned coat. Minor inpainting. 12"h. 10"w., in its original painted frame, 16 1/2"h. 14 1/2"w. Ex Bob and Donna Parrott (Tennessee). Found in Kittery, Maine, the portrait's subject, according to family tradition, was a ship's officer.
