New England, mid 18th century, maple. Vasiform splat, carved crest, and turned legs and stretchers. Retains an old, or original, red stain with an early overvarnish. Minor imperfections. 18"h. seat, 40 1/2"h. overall. Ex Joanne Boardman Antiques (Illinois). Condition reportCondition: Alligatored varnish, rush seat is older, but not likely original, some joings have been reglued and some have minor repairs.
