PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN BY H.C. JENSEN (DANISH, MID 19TH CENTURY).
Oil on canvas laid on board, unsigned. Bust-length portrait of a handsome gentleman. 10 3/4"h. 9 3/4"w., in a period frame, 13 1/2"h. 11 1/2"w. Ex Dorothy Murphy (Michigan).

A 20th century note on verso identifies the subject as Gamekeeper Augustsen, who served Count Fries of Friesenborg, Denmark. The note also indicates that the portrait was painted by H.C. Jensen.

Condition: Glued to board and remounted on original stretcher.
