American, 19th century, pine. Dovetailed construction with molded lid and retaining its original, bold, black over red paint decoration. Retains a moderately alligatored surface. Imperfections. 7 1/4"h. 13"w. 8 1/2"d.

Condition: Early repair to one hinge and hinge rail on the lid, other expected wear and minor losses.
