COUNTRY QUEEN ANNE SIDE CHAIR.
Attributed to Bristol, Connecticut, mid 18th century, maple, cherry, and ash. Vasiform splat and turned stiles, legs and stretchers. Imperfections. 15 1/2"h. seat, 40"h. overall. Ex H. George Bickelmann Antiques (Michigan).

A chair in the George Dudley Seymour Collection at the Connecticut Historical Society has a similarly shaped and molded crest rail, as well as a history of ownership in early Bristol.

Condition: Some height loss, refinished, some reglued joints, others with nailed reinforcements, older rush seat (not original), minor damage to back seat rail.
