PORTRAIT PAINTING OF A GENTLEMAN (AMERICAN, LATE 18TH CENTURY).
Oil on canvas, unsigned. Portrait of a man in colonial dress seated under a window. A hole in the rebacking reveals an inked name and date that appear to be "P. Henry 1774". Rebacked with surface flaking. 11"h. 9 1/4"w., in a mahogany veneer frame, 14"h. 12"w.

Condition: Revarnished and rebacked on canvas, flaking is mainly in corners, especially lower left.
