HEPPLEWHITE BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS.
Possibly Kentucky, early 19th century, cherry with figured drawer fronts, poplar secondary. French feet and four dovetailed drawers with added inlay and pulls with eagle escutcheons. 40"w. 22 3/4"d. 38"h. Purchased at Mrs. Ruth Mahanes sale, Paint Lick, Kentucky, in 1995. Condition reportCondition: Fan inlay on drawers has penciled in detail. Two board top. Pieced repair to back left corner of the top. Pieces of wood on the back added to hold mirror. Stabilized cracks down back edge of both back stiles renailed.Feet and base restored, all now attached with screws. Drawer runners restored and some repairs to drawer fronts.
