RHODE ISLAND FAMILY RECORD SAMPLER.
Member of the Dexter Brown family, Cumberland, Providence County, 1815-1825, silk on linen. Documents the birth dates of Dexter (1777-1840) and Abigail Wilk[i]son (1779-1836) Brown, their one son and five daughters, the first born in 1802 and the youngest in 1814. The lower portion is filled with a colorful, densely embroidered landscape, dominated by a blank monument. Some loss. In older gilt frame, 18"h. 17 1/2"w.

Condition: Loss to black thread lettering. Hole in body of record.
