PAINTED LADDER-BACK ARMCHAIR.
Probably New England, 18th century, ash, hickory and maple. Compressed ball finials on back posts with simple turnings, four slightly curved slats, shaped flat arms, prominent hand grips, splint seat and double box stretchers. Well worn with nice patina. Worn black over blue/grey paint. Minor loss. 16" seat, 49"h. overall.

Condition: Loss to arches on slats, newer seat, and two feet on the same side have been ended out with tacked on 1" blocks.
