English or Massachusetts, 2nd quarter-18th century, walnut. Vasiform splat, compass seat, blocked and turned stretchers, and resting on cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Imperfections. 16 1/4"h. seat, 38 1/2"h. overall.

The crest is possibly a olf replacement.Condition:Older refinish, repair to back-left rail/stile joint which is causing left side of the crest to be a bit higher, back joints repaired, front with later nails, minor losses and age cracks, returns probably okay but reinforced with nails, chair marked XIII and seat marked VIII. br>
