FINE CARVED CHIPPENDALE ARMCHAIR.
Philadelphia, ca. 1775, walnut, poplar, and yellow pine. Shell-carved crest, solid splat, knuckled arms, and resting on cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet. Imperfections. 16 3/4"h. seat, 39 1/2"h. overall. Ex C.L. Prickett (Pennsylvania). Condition reportCondition: Older finish, was once a commode chair and has tack holes from the brackets, has tack holes on the exterior of the rails indicating that it was overupholstered at one point, 1 return likely replaced, screws holding arm supports to the frame may be replaced.
