TWO UNUSUAL BASKETS.
Both American, late 19th-early 20th century. Rectangular basket with walnut corners and a bentwood handle, 10 3/4"l.; and an oval basket with a lap-constructed rim and foot, a chestnut bottom, and a bentwood handle, 15 1/2"l. Each retaining a good, old surface.

Condition: The smaller with a wonderful surface, a few traces of red paint (visible on the bottom) and only a few breaks; the larger basket with a few minor splits and breaks and remnants of paint on the rim.
