Includes a check from the Otsego County Bank in Cooperstown, New York, signed by James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851), dated 1840, 2 1/4"h. 5 3/4"w.; a printed flyer advertising "Instruction in...plain and fancy needlework" at Mrs. Hill's Seminary in Boston, 4"h. 6 1/2"w.; a Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, land grant signed by John Penn (1729-1795), dated 1774, 7 1/2"h. 12 1/2"w.; and an ALS to G. Bailey, editor of The Era from John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892), not dated,7 1/2"h. 6 1/2"w. (sight). All with expected toning.
