BANNISTER-BACK SIDE CHAIR.
New England, mid 18th century, mixed hardwood. Scalloped crest rail and nicely turned finials. The four bannisters repeat the stile turnings. Turned legs and stretchers. Crazed and worn black paint over earlier red. Some loss to replaced rush seat. 16"h. seat, 42 1/2"h. overall. Ex Newsom Berdan, (Maine).
