American, 1st half-19th century, pine with staple hinges. One has floral wallpaper covering and is lined with 1830s newspaper. Wear. 11"w. 5"d. 4 1/24"h. The other is dovetailed with original grain painting. Age splits. 12"w. 6"d. 5 1/2"h. Ex Mario Polo, (New York).
