Philadelphia: Whiting & Thomas, 1856-57. 20 numbers in 19 parts, 8vo (250 x 160 mm). Numerous plates. Publisher's light green pictorial wrappers, uncut. Housed in two morocco backed clamshell boxes. Condition: some parts unstitched, three parts with spines perished, other edge wear. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. watson's annals in parts: the last edition published in the author's lifetime. Watson revised his original 1830 work in 1841; this edition further expanded by others. Howes W169; Sabin 102140; Waters, "Philadelphia's Boswell: John Fanning Watson" in PMHB vol. 98, no. 1.
