Publisher's patterned green cloth, red morocco gilt title label on the upper cover. Condition: recased with the original backstrip retained, light fading to the spine, endpapers renewed. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. a lovely copy of the first complete edition. First issued in monthly parts, with the panorama issued as a separate publication, the two projects were united here for the first time as one volume. "Wild's output of Philadelphia scenes must be appraised as possessing very considerable merit both from the historical and artistic viewpoints. As a historical record of the city, more than half the plates depict subjects not recorded in the earlier books of Philadelphia views .
