Philadelphia: c. 1842. Aquatint, hand-colored (260 x 365 mm). Framed. Condition: minor spotting in the sky. "In the 1820s George Lehman aquatinted four of his own drawings of the Fairmount Water Works structures and the Upper Ferry Bridge close by ... In a few years Lehman turned to lithography; but he returned to aquatint in his large The New Suspension Bridge at Fairmount. This replaced in 1842 the Upper Ferry Bridge burned in 1838" (Snyder).
