KOLLNER, Augustus. Engel & Wolf's Brewery & Vaults at Fountain Green including five large Vaults ... cut out of the solid rock ... where they keep their well known Lager Beer ... They are situated on the Columbia Rail Road, about one mile above the Fairmount Waterworks, Philadelphia. Philadelphia: [Printed by J. H. Camp?], c. 1855. Lithograph, hand-colored (510 x 590 mm). Condition: repairs along extremities and into image at right. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. "In the foreground is the railroad with a train and also a two-decker horse-drawn omnibus. Above on a height is the brewery with its owners' names painted on it. The partnership of Charles Engel and Charles Wolf is first listed in 1851" (Wainwright). This copy a variant, with the printer's imprint removed and without German text. Wainwright 112.
