Philadelphia: J. G. Simpson, c. 1855. Tinted lithograph, hand-finished (595 x 470 mm). Framed. Condition: very slight dampstain below lettering. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. The new Masonic Hall opened in November of 1855 and this large print was likely issued shorty thereafter. "Eleven people stroll on the sidewalk in front of a large four-story Gothic building surmounted by by a number of narrow spires" (Wainwright). Also printed are the names of the Hall's architects and builder. Wainwright 385.
