Philadelphia: Augustus Kollner, 1856. Color lithograph (496 x 775 mm). Framed. Provenance: Martin P. Snyder. large, rare and stunning view of philadelphia as seen from across the delaware river. "Camden takes up the foreground of this view which shows the Delaware River with Philadelphia in the background. To left center is a low, long island (Windmill Island) through whose channel a ferry is passing. Numerous ships crowd the Philadelphia wharves and ply the river" (Wainwright).
