SPORTING. Trotting Cracks of Philadelphia Returning from the Race at Point Breeze Park, having a brush past Turner's Hotel, Rope Ferry Road, Philadelphia, 1870.
Philadelphia: H. Pharazyn, 1870. Color lithograph (530 x 690 mm). Framed. "respectfully dedicated to the lovers of horses and the sporting public in general." While the artist of this view remains anonymous, his subject is well known. Turner's Hotel was owned by John C. Turner, a professional trotter driver. This view shows trotters returning from a race at nearby Point Breeze Park to the barn located at the hotel. Each race horse is identified.
