Bob Dylan Alternate Album Artwork. All of Bob Dylan's official albums are with Columbia records which is where his career began. However, in the early 1970s Dylan left Columbia briefly and signed with Asylum records (owned by Warner Bros) He recorded for Asylum "planet waves" which he recorded with the Band and was produced by Dylan and Robbie Robertson from the Band. Dylan was very unhappy with the marketing of the album and disappointed with the sales results. He returned to Columbia and Columbia bought the master to Planet waves from Asylum to re-release the album. Dylan was about to release his "Saved' album and Columbia was going to release Planet Waves at the same time. They decided to change the Planet Waves album cover which is the album proof in the frame, the other proof is the cover for 'saved' Dylan had approved both album covers and just before the album went to production Dylan decided not to use these sleeves and the album covers were changed. The saved album was deleted from the Columbia catalogue for a long time but re-released on the legacy label (which is part of Columbia's records) in 1990. they re-released it they used the album cover that is in the frame.
