IDENTIFIED VIRGINIA CONFEDERATE AMBROTYPE IMAGE, sixth plate, Lewis C. McGehee (1826-1915), private in the 23rd VA Infantry Regiment, Co. G, formed in Louisa Co. as the Frederick Hall Grays, the image depicts a bearded McGehee in his uniform with shoulder belt and pistol. Along with six later cabinet cards including images of McGehee, his brothers, sister and wife. Third quarter 19th century. 3 1/4" x 2 5/8" plate.
Provenance: Property of a Virginia collector.
Very good condition with light toning around the edges of image
