«Dali» Automaton «Smoking Monkey», originally by Phalibois. Deutsche Beschreibung: «Dali» Puppenautomat «Rauchender Affe» von Phalibois. Dieses Kunstwerk wurde vor ca. 20 Jahren von einem Madrider Kunsthändler gekauft, der sich auf Salvador Dali spezialisiert hatte. Man sagt, dass der Puppenautomat von Phalibois (Paris ca. 1880) von Dali oder einem seiner Schüler zu diesem skurilen Kunstwerk modifiziert wurde. Die Hand Dali›s ist für den Kunstkenner ohne Zweifel zu erkennen.Paris/Madrid, ca.1880/1950. 50cm hoch.

English Description: This piece of art was bought about 20 years ago from an art dealer in Madrid, who speciallized in Salvador Dali. It is said, that the automaton by Phalibois (Paris 1880) «Smoking Dandy» (Monkey smoking a cigarette through a bellow system incorporated in his body and origianlly dressed like a Dandy) was artistically modified by Dali or one of his scholar to this unique and very special sculpture. Dali’s «handwritind» can clearly be identified by any Dali connesseur. Paris/Madrid, ca.1880/1950. 19¾in high.
