Continental Hand-Painted Porcelain Dessert Service
ca. first half of the 20th c., each piece delicately hand-painted with biblical scenes (all of which have been identified by the artist underneath) and lavishly gilded (the interiors of each cup completely gilded and with a floral design at the bottom), the original porcelain manufacturer's mark obscured by gilding and with a later stamp reading "Made in Czecho-Slovakia. / Holzner's Glaspalast / Karlsbad." The (19) piece service includes: (5) dessert plates (8.5"), (7) demitasse cups (2.25"), and (7) saucers (4.5");
