Chi'Wara Female Figure, Bamana People,
one Chi'Wara figure from the Bamana people of Mali, rare female antelope figure with human female atop its back. Accented with blue and red polychrome geometric carving, and earrings made from worn thread on both the antelope and the woman, antlers topped with blue leather and animal hair. The antelope's neck is elongated, with a simplified and abstracted body, the woman with beaded string around the neck and stomach. 24" x 10.75" x 3"
