Six Early American Manuscript School Maps,
ca. 1820s, three signed by George Lantz, showing North America, South America, Great Britain, Europe, Asia, and Africa with colored delineation of borders. A modern penciled inscription on the folder containing the maps states that Lantz was born in 1804 and gives the locations of Frederick, Maryland, York and Lancaster, Pennsylvania beneath his name. The maps were most likely a school exercise. Interestingly, the political boundaries for North America are those of 1800. 13" x 16"
