William Lamb Longrifle,
Jamestown, North Carolina, ca. 1835 - 1840, percussion, 43.5" octagonal barrel, 59.5" LOA, walnut stock, brass furniture, silver inlays. "Captain Billy" Lamb manufactured his own barrels and was reputed to make Jamestown's finest triggers. For similar rifles see pages 128 - 132 in Gunsmiths of the Carolinas by Whisker, Bryan, Russo and McKnight. Collection of a North Carolina gentleman. Estimate: $2000 - 3000 Condition report5" loss to one side of stock near muzzle, missing nosecap, missing six inlays, some pitting on barrel at hammer.
