charming watercolor on paper signed and dated "McGee 1940," inscribed at lower left "Mount Pleasant / Built by Henry Grady 1805 / Home of / Alexander Outlaw Grady / Romulus M. S. Grady / Margaret Ann Grady / Benjamin Franklin Grady / Burned June 1879." A small family crest is drawn to the left of the inscription with the family motto "Vulneratus Non Victus" (Wounded not Conquered). SS 10.25" x 13.25"; DOA 13.75" x 16.75" Collection of an eastern NC Gentleman. Estimate: $300 - 500 Condition reportNot examined out of the frame.
