New England Chippendale Slant Front Desk, 18th c.,
likely Massachusetts, figured maple with white pine secondary, dovetailed case, original slant lid with bread board ends, divided interior with seven drawers, case with four graduated lipped drawers, molded base with shaped bracket feet. 41" x 38" (case 36") x 19" Very attractive "honeyed" orange-red finish with desirable wear patterns, great shadows surrounding old hardware.

Old surface, hinges replaced and moved to slant lid, heavy staining and wear, chipping and some loss to base.
