English Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Chatelaine,
the hook centered with the popular relief image of Sara Bernhardt, assayed in Birmingham (1891), from which five chains extend. The central chain secures a repousse scissor case (with later scissors) with Chester (1895) assay marks, flanked by a scent bottle with partially rubbed English hallmarks, and a pencil case decorated with fine cut work leaves and Birmingham (1899) assay marks. The outer chains terminate in a thimble bucket with Birmingham (1891) assay marks and a tablet having three ivory pages within a decorative open work cover with Birmingham (1889) assay marks. 129g.
