watercolor laid on mat, signed "A. Pope" lower right, described lower left as "English Setter owned by Franklin Sumner Milton Mass." In original gilt wooden frame. The Sumner family, owners of this setter, were an ancient and politically powerful Massachusetts family. SS 10" x 14"; DOA 15" x 18"
