A Fine Pair of Oriental Needleworks,
first quarter of the 19th c., one panel depicting a Phoenix bird and butterflies amidst peony blossoms, the second panel with blossoming branches of peonies and prunus. Both panels in matching contemporary dark wood frames. DOA 32.5" x 15.5" A very attractive pair of needlework panels, each finely hand-stitched in almost a crewel work style. Estimate: $400 - 600 Condition reportBoth with some holes and loss to silk ground, some pulls to threads. Neither panel has been viewed out of the frame.
