Andre Kertesz (Hungarian, 1894 - 1985),
gelatin silver print, "Chez Mondrian", signed and dated 1926 in pencil en verso, housed in "Kulicke" frame. Kertesz helped establish the "photo essay" and is known for his innovative camera angles. Today he is recognized as one of the outstanding figures in photojournalism. The paper size is 8" x 10", the image size is 7 1/8" x 9 11/16"; SS 9.25" x 6.75"; DOA 17.25" x 14"
