Some illustrate bisque dolls and their extensive clothing and is a unique record of the variety available. Manufacturers are not mentioned but included are Campbell-Dolls (table 8), many mechanical dolls and novelties, marottes, window display figures (table 11), carts with dolls and animals, bears, farm animals, automatons, boats, musical instruments, games, dolls house furniture, dolls houses, pop-guns, trains, tin soldiers, tinplate toys, rocking horses, prams - every conceivable type of toy. Front cover slight wear to corners (piece is missing from back left hand cover edge), one inner page loose but present - otherwise Good Plus to Excellent condition, invaluable reference source, 9"/23cm x 11.75"/30cm. NB see page 193 German Doll Encyclopaedia 1800-1939 by Jurgen & Marianne Cieslik: Remarks: The Louis Lindner & Sohne Company is a typical example of a Sonneberg Verleger (Sonneberg - Verleger, home industry, home-trade workers). It never produced something (as did, for example, Cuno & Otto Dressel of Sonneberg at the turn of the century). It was made and delivered by the numerous factories and people working in home-trade. As one can learn from early price lists, the assortment was composed of many samples and models of different producers. Dolls are known with heads of Simon & Halbig of Grafenhain marked with the initials "L.L.&S" and mould number "1339". Most remarkably, a doll stamped "DRGM 357 #529" was found. The producer was Hermann Wegner of Sonneberg, whose dolls were handled by Louis Lindner & Sohne.
