GIACOMO MANZU BIRD BROOCH 18k yg, 6/6, ca. 1966. 31 gs. GW, 1" x 2 1/4". (Note: Pope John Paul XXIII commissioned G. Manzu [1908-1991], a pre-eminent Italian sculptor, to design the Door of Death for Saint Peter's Basilica. Manzu cast a series of five emblematic animals as they appear on the doors. Six sets were cast.)
