Condition/Details: Bound in three quarter brown cloth , this antique volume contains the original issues of a scarce German-language magazine containing numerous genres of fiction profusely illustrated with full-page and in-text engravings. This periodical was published by Lorenz Clasen starting in 1847, and contained a great many satirical illustrations that contributed to providing critical commentary on the political events of the day. The magazine played a significant role in the development of caricature illustration in Germany. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with age-toned pages. The book measures approximately 9.5" x 11" and contains irregularly numbered pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $6.50
