Author: Lindley Murray / M. R. Bartlett
Publisher: H. and E. Phinney
Printing Year: 1836

Condition/Details: Bound in leather, this antique volume is a scarce reader whose threefold goal it was "to improve youth in the art of reading; to meliorate their language and sentiments; and to inculcate some of the most important principles of piety and virtue." M. R. Bartlett has written an eleven-page text entitled "The Definitions of Inflections & Emphasis, and Rules for Reading Verse, with a key" that has been prefixed to the main text. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is remarkably well-preserved. The book is solidly bound with age-toned pages and measures approximately 4" x 5.75". It contains 252 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
