Notes: Bound in blindstamped green cloth with gilt embossing, this antique set is a scarce collection by an American naturalist and essayist who played an important role in the development of the U.S. conservation movement. Titles of the volumes are as follows: Riverby, Winter Sunshine, Ways of Nature, Leaf and Tendril, Wake-Robin, The Summit of the Years, Signs and Seasons. The work is illustrated with frontispiece portraits of the author in different nature settings. The volumes show mild external age/wear, and are solidly bound with clean, lightly age toned pages. Dustjackets are in glassine covers. The books measure approximately 5.5" x 7.75". Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $10.50
