Condition/Details: Bound in green cloth, this antique volume is a scarce historical biography of an Irish patriot belonging to the Nationalist movement who escaped to the United States in 1852, and died here in 1867. The second text contains, among its many biographies of Irish political figures, a ten-page biographical sketch of Thomas Francis Meagher. This latter text provides portrait engravings of all the men discussed. The volume shows significant external age/wear;it lacks front board and spine, rear board is detached. Texts appear complete and contain age-toned pages. Several vintage newspaper clippings on Irish political matters have been laid in. The book measures approximately 5.5" x 8.5" and contains 160/192 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
