Title: Marcel Breuer: Sun and Shadow, the Philosophy of an Architect
Editor: Peter Blake Publisher: Dodd, Mead & Company Printing Year: 1955 First edition in Alexey Brodovitch's rare dustjacket, intact and unclipped Condition/Details: Bound in beige cloth with white lettering, this volume is a scarce study of the work of the Hungarian-born modernist architect and designer, who studied and taught at the Bauhaus school in Weimar, and emigrated to the United States in 1937. The work is illustrated with many black and white photographs and a color section that illustrates the application of color within the architect's constructions and projects. Peter Blake provides notes; Alexey Brodovitch has designed a book that is meant to be read by holding it so that the pages are turned vertically. The volume shows very light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean, bright pages. Dustjacket is in glassine cover. The book measures approximately 8.25" x 10.75" and contains 205 pages.
