Southern miniature chest, probably from the Virginia Piedmont area. Walnut primary, poplar secondary woods with beveled drawer fronts, brass knobs and carved skirt. Back of chest appears to have a name written in black script (illegible). Condition - old refinish, replaced knobs, possible sanding to top and drawer fronts. 23 3/4" height x 21 5/8" width x 15 1/2 depth. Virginia, second quarter of 19th century.
