Federal inlaid mahogany sofa in the Sheraton taste. Flat crest rail with inlaid tiger maple veneer panels, lamb's tongue carved armrests, finely veneered skirt and reeded front legs on casters. 20th century striped upholstery. Museum inventory number painted on underside. Condition: repairs to front legs where they join the sides, mild sun bleaching to back side, older finish with minor wear, chips and abrasions, wear and staining to upholstery. 35"H x 76" width x 22 1/2" depth. New England, circa 1815.
